I already knew I'd be using Michael when it came time to sell my house.
I'm pretty impatient but he always had time to give me advice and answer my questions. Now I'm buying and if course wouldn't want to have anyone but Michael helping me!
I've known Michael for 20 years but it was not until recently that my wife and I decided to buy a home in the Chain of Lakes area.
Michael's knowledge of local homes and the nuances of each geographic area were the original reasons we selected him as our agent. However, it was his negotiation skills that were the key to us buying our retirement home. He was persistent in the face of multiple obstacles and always kept us well informed. I really don't know how many agents would have lasted with us. The house we finally purchased was a short sale. We first saw this house a yr. ago. Too many houses in-between to count. We would call Michael in the morning and say hey we would like to see these houses can you set up for the afternoon, and as many as he could we had appointments. If he does not answer his cell - guaranteed he will call back very shortly. Michael was a driving force with the listing agent to help move this sale along. I had a difficult situation in selling a house.
I am the Power Of Attorney for a 83 year old relative and I live in another state which is an approx.. 6 hour drive from the house. My relative lived alone, was hospitalized and the moved to a nursing facility and finally to an assisted living facility. The house needed some repairs before it could be put on the market. Michael found contractors to do the work and supervised them to make sure everything was done correctly. When the work was completed, Michael listed the house and we had a firm offer within a week. We closed 4 weeks later. This was done without my having to travel to the house to handle things myself. I totally relied on the advice and guidance of Michael. The best agent in the area.
Michael sold two homes for me in the last two months. One house in Fox Lake and the other a Townhouse in Round Lake. The first sold within two weeks. Really good. The Townhouse was listed on a Friday and by the next day we had showing appointment and three buyers bidding more than the asking price. That was incredible and it was not by chance. Michael knows the business well. I’m getting another property ready soon for Michael to list for me.

When I decided to sell my lakefront home in July 2011, I contacted and interviewed four Lake County realtors who evaluated my home and suggested a list price.
All of the realtors offered approximately the same range for home pricing, services, listing sites (online, MLS, etc.), and advertising media. Michael, however, distinguished himself from the others on several counts. I listed my home with him in mid-July. He exhibited extraordinary knowledge of the history and current situation in the housing market. He serves as the corporate vice president of ReMax Showcase. His entire support team, office staff and Real Estate Attorney, proved to be very professional, competent, and I enjoyed working with them. All provided excellent, prompt, friendly service. Michael presented me with a contract offer on my home on July 27 after 8 buyer showings. At this point his intelligence and eloquence as a negotiator proved invaluable. All realtors offer virtually the same services, but a few of these are unique to the best in this business. The ability to negotiate a successful contract is vital and this is one of Michael’s greatest talents. His tenacity came to bear in researching and finding examples of a number of comparable home sales that supported the asking price. His persistence and business savvy resulted in a signed contract on August 4. Much to my delight, the sell price was higher than I (and the other 3 realtors I interviewed a month before) had expected. Closing on my property was successfully completed September 14.
